The clock counts down until your designated "time of death". The aim is not the glorification of death, but to increase awareness of its imminence so that we might live more "real life" in the time we have remaining.

How long do you want to live?

On the screen you will see your "time till death" counting down by 1/10 second increments. When the count is completed a secrete message from the artist will appear.

The picture fades

The self-portrait you shoot with the web camera is used as the background of the Deathclock software. As your "time till death" counts down your picture slowly blurs until the moment of your "time of death", at which point it will white out.

One-of-a-kind

Together, the user and Tatsuo Miyajima make Deathclock possible. The user's name is displayed along with Miyajima's as a double copyright.

1,000 in the world

Only 1,000 versions of the Deathclock software will be sold. Each version comes with a serial number guaranteeing authenticity.
